Getting started
Last verified: October 4, 2026The SAGE app is how you get through your community’s gates and manage who else can come in. It runs on iPhone and Android. From the app you can unlock gates, invite guests, create one-time codes and see every property you have access to.
How you get started
You can’t sign up for SAGE on your own. Someone has to invite you first: your community’s management team, or a resident who adds you to their household or guest list. When the invitation is ready, SAGE sends you a text message with a link to download the app.
- Get registered - If your community gave you an enrollment link or QR code, use it to register your household. Management reviews it before invitations go out.
- Download the app - Tap the link in your invitation text. See Download the app.
- Set up your account - Open the app and enter the phone number your invitation was sent to. See Set up your account.
- Verify your identity - The app asks you to photograph your government-issued ID. See ID verification.
- Sign in - After that, sign in whenever the app asks.
The first screen you see is Welcome to Sage., which asks for your phone number. You use the same screen whether you’re new or already have an account.
Around the app
Three tabs sit at the bottom of the screen:
| Tab | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard (iPhone) or Home (Android) | Your home screen. |
| Keys | Every property you can get into. See Access keys and properties. |
| Guests (iPhone) or Guest (Android) | The people you’ve given access to. |
On the home screen:
- Your photo or initials - At the top left. Tap it to open Settings. See Your profile and settings.
- The bell - At the top right. Tap it to see your notifications.
- Cards at the top - Things the app wants you to do, such as verify your identity, accept an invitation to another property, add a vehicle or add a recovery email. On iPhone, tap the button on a card to do it. On Android, do it from Settings for now. Later (Not Now on the notifications card) hides the card on this phone, except on an invitation card on iPhone, where it declines the invitation.
- Invite guest and Generate code - Quick ways to let someone in.
- Access keys - Your keys. On iPhone, tap the lock on a key to unlock a gate. Manage opens the Keys tab.
- Upcoming arrivals - Guests who are due to arrive. Guest list opens the Guests tab.
- Active codes - One-time codes you’ve created. All codes shows the full list.
On iPhone, Generate code and Active codes don’t appear for short-term rental guests.
You can also use SAGE in a web browser with the same email and password.
