One-time codes
Last verified: October 4, 2026This guide is for the SAGE app (version 3) and management portal you use today. See the guide for the new apps.
For a quick, single visit, like a delivery, a ride-share pickup or a repair, create a one-time code. SAGE gives you a six-digit code to share. Your visitor types it on the gate kiosk’s Enter Code keypad. They don’t need the app.
A code works once. It expires 30 days after it starts, or when it’s used, whichever comes first. If you rent your home, it also expires when your rental ends, if that’s sooner.
If you don’t see the One-Time Code tab, your account can’t create codes. Short-term renters, minors and people without the Invite Guests permission can’t create codes.
Create a code
- Open Add New Access - On the home screen, tap Add New Access, then tap Agree on the Guest Invite Policy.
- Pick One-Time Code - Tap the One-Time Code tab.
- Name it - Enter who the code is for in Full Name or Company Name.
- Schedule it (optional) - To make the code start later, turn on Schedule for Later and pick the Start Date and the time it Begins. Otherwise it works right away.
- Generate - Tap Generate Code (Generate code on Android).
- Share it - On Your code is ready (or Code scheduled), tap the code to copy it, or tap Share Code to send it by text, email or any messaging app. Tap Complete when you’re done.
If the One-Time Code tab has an info icon, tap it. The app asks you to verify your identity before you can create codes.
See your codes
Your active and scheduled codes are on the Codes tab of the home screen. Used and revoked codes leave the list. Expired codes also drop off. On iPhone, an expired code may show as Expired for a while first.
Revoke a code
Revoke a code if you no longer want it to work.
- Open the code - On the Codes tab, tap the code.
- Revoke it - Tap Revoke Code. On iPhone, confirm with Revoke. You’ll see “Revoke successful.” On Android the code is revoked right away, and you’ll see “You have successfully revoked the code.”
The code stops working and leaves your Codes list.
Need a code that works more than once?
Codes you create in the app always work once. For something like an event, ask your property manager. Managers have an option to create codes that work more than once.
