Administration
Administration and units
Last verified: October 3, 2026This guide is for the SAGE app (version 3) and management portal you use today. See the guide for the new apps.
The Administration page
Administration in the left menu is where you manage your community’s units and the people in them. It has these tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Units | Every unit in your community, with its type and status. |
| Members | Occupants and tenants across all units. See Members, requests and pending. |
| Guests | Guests across all units, including guests who have been invited but haven’t accepted yet. |
| Associate Members | Only in communities that use associate (non-member) units. |
| Requests | Sign-ups waiting for your approval. |
| Pending | Invitations that have been sent but not accepted yet. |
Each tab shows a count next to its name.
Units
The Units tab lists every unit with three columns: Unit (the address), Type (for example Residential or Rental) and Status (Active or Inactive). Use the search box to find a unit, and click a row to open the unit.
A unit becomes Active on its own as soon as someone is invited to it, a sign-up for it is approved, someone is transferred into it, or it is rented.
Add a unit
Units are normally loaded for you when your community is set up. To add one yourself:
- On the Units tab, click Add Property.
- Fill in Main Address, Unit/Suite (if any), City, State and Zip. You can also enter Latitude and Longitude, and choose a Status. In communities with associate members, also choose the Type: Residential or Non-Member.
- Click Add.
If the address looks like a unit you already have, SAGE shows Similar Property Found with the existing address and a Visit button. Check it isn’t a duplicate, then click Add again to create the new unit anyway, or Cancel to go back.
You need the Manage Properties permission to see Add Property and the unit menu described below.
The unit page
A unit page has a card on the left with the unit’s address, city, state, zip, Type, Status and Property ID (click the ID to copy it). Rental units also show their Rental Period.
The tabs on the right hold the people and things attached to the unit:
- Occupants - see Unit occupants
- Tenants - rental units only, see Notes and tenants
- Guests, Visitors and Invited - see Unit guests, visitors and invites
- Rental Managers - short-term rental units only, see Short-term rentals
- Vehicles - see Vehicles and plate access
- Devices - see Unit devices
- Notes - see Notes and tenants
Some tabs only appear when your community has that feature turned on. Units of type Non-Member open with a different set of tabs.
The unit menu
Click the
menu on the unit card for these actions:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Edit | Change the unit’s address details. The Status choice only appears while the unit is inactive. |
| Rent | Turn the unit into a rental. On a rental unit this item reads Rental and lets you change or end the rental. See Notes and tenants. Not shown for Non-Member units. |
| LPR | Only in communities that limit plate licenses per unit. Opens LPR Licences, where you set Max vehicle licenses for the unit. |
| Reset | Clears the unit. Not shown for rental or Non-Member units. |
| Delete | Deletes the unit. |
Reset permanently removes all occupants, guests, visitors, pending invitations, devices and notes from the unit, and the vehicles of the people removed no longer show on it. Use it when a home is sold or changes hands. SAGE asks you to confirm first, and it can’t be undone.
Delete removes the unit and everyone’s access to it, and cancels its pending invitations. Use it only for a unit that was added by mistake. It can’t be undone.
